A Tribute to Mrs. Marian Sheard

Marian Sheard, a beloved member of the Brampton and Caledon Community Foundation (BACCF) family, passed away at the remarkable age of 102 years on April 4, 2026.  I knew Marian for over 20 years; going back to 2005 when Marian created the Marian Sheard Family Fund at the BACCF.

Since that time, I had the pleasure of getting to know Marian as someone who absolutely loved life.  Marian had such energy, elegance and grace.  Marian was always in attendance at Foundation events, particularly The OPAL and The Pearl Luncheon.  With her signature glass of red wine (apparently, the elixir of life) in hand, Marian would engage one and all with her warm smile and genuine charm.

At 102 years of age, we are saddened by Marian’s passing, but also energized by the example Marian set…love life, enjoy every minute and live the adventure.  Cheers to you, Marian!  Thank you for being part of the Foundation Family.
