Round two of the Canada Healthy Communities Initiative launches May 14

Join the Canadian Urban Institute, Community Foundations of Canada (CFC) and the Government of Canada on May 14th, at 1pm EST to hear about some funded Round 1 projects and to learn more about how to be a part of Round 2.

This event will take place in French and English with ASL and LSQ interpretation. A recording of the event will also be made available if you are unable to attend live.

The application portal will be open from May 14, 2021, until June 25, 2021. Please refer to the Applicant Guide and our website for additional clarity around eligibility and program details.

The Canada Healthy Communities Initiative (CHCI) is a $31 million investment from Infrastructure Canada to support communities as they adapt spaces and services to respond to ongoing needs arising from COVID-19. CHCI is an innovative program funding small-scale, local infrastructure projects to support communities in planning for recovery, and becoming more pandemic resilient.

With the first round of the Canada Healthy Communities Initiative coming to a close, community foundations have been able to provide local leadership in a pan-Canadian initiative to create safer, more vibrant and inclusive communities.

Golden Horseshoe Hub

The Canada Healthy Communities Initiative (CHCI) is a national initiative funded by the Government of Canada to create and adapt public spaces to respond to the new realities of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Golden Horseshoe Hub is led by the Oakville Community Foundation and is a consortium of eight community foundations including: Brampton and Caledon Community FoundationBrant County Community FoundationBurlington FoundationCommunity Foundation of Halton NorthHamilton Community FoundationCommunity Foundation of Mississauga and Niagara Community Foundation.
