Recognizing Lynn Sinclair-Smith at Opal 2024

On a picturesque autumn day, with the Caledon hills as the backdrop, the BACCF’s annual Opal Luncheon was held at Mount Alverno.  As part of an honoured tradition, the BACCF recognizes someone who has greatly impacted the community with the Living Legacy Award.  The 2024 award recipient was Lynn Sinclair-Smith, creator and founder of the Friendship Gardens at the Headwaters Healthcare Centre.  Lynn’s vision for the gardens was to provide patients, visitors and hospital staff places to connect and be still in the beauty of nature.

Lynn is also the Friendship Gardens Bursary Fund at the BACCF.  The fund provides financial support for a student enrolled in the Environmental Studies program at the University of Waterloo.

The BACCF would like to acknowledge and thank the event sponsors: Almag Aluminum, McCarney Group LLP, The Sharpe-Way Group at Scotia Wealth Management, TD Wealth Management and Rice Development
